Hats That Pack

It’s been two years since our last packable hats roundup, and since it already feels like peak summer and it never hurts to have a spare in a different style (or when your favorite gets left behind in a taxi or TSA scanner), we thought we’d refresh our list. Whether you’re in the Côte d’Azur, Mexico, or Brooklyn (all similar climates at this point!), there’s a hat for every setting. From straw to canvas or cotton, they’re floppy and pack flat so you don’t need to be fussy with their shape when you’re on the move.

1. This bright poppy red hat is very Faye Dunaway and also convertible-ready, thanks to a chin tie. It’s available in brown and other cute colors, even polka dot!

2. Raffia and stripes?! Perfect for lunch by the Byblos pool.

3. We love the simplicity of this black-tie bucket hat, which can go from beach to sunset cocktails—sun protection, people!

4. Yolanda’s ride or die, this Helen Kaminski raffia hat is practical and terribly chic.

5. This 100% cotton sunhat has a wide brim, packs small, and is reversible—a 2-in-1. Another reversible option we’d pop on for garden work—it even has a small pocket for a flower!

6. Inspired by summers on Nantucket, this TWP hat in water-repellent twill is perfectly oversized—with an adorable red neck tie so it’ll stay put on a boat.

7. We love the cool grandpa vibes of this chocolate-brown Kule bucket hat, plus it’s waterproof, with handy chin ties.

8. Handmade in LA, this exaggerated bucket hat is cut from a thick cotton canvas that looks crisp and elegant.

9. A raffia bucket hat with a short, slightly flared brim that looks better the more it’s worn. And it rolls!

10. One of the OGs we still love, the Magic Hat has a slim profile that isn’t overpowering, and is both washable and durable.

11. In classic Burberry khaki and checks, a bucket hat that will take you from the Cotswolds to the Costa Brava.

12. Terry and candy stripe are an irresistible combination.
