Working with clients in the food and hospitality industry, I always get the question when friends or acquaintances are traveling to Paris, “Where should I go to eat and drink?”
The first two things that I tell them are: if you really want to eat at nearly all these places, make a reservation in advance. And, when they call you the day before to reconfirm, pick up and say “Oui,” otherwise, especially if you do not speak the language, there is a good chance they will have canceled your reservation. There is nothing worse than showing up for dinner to learn you no longer have a table. In Paris, like New York, there are equal chances to have average to mediocre overpriced meals as there are to have transcendent meals.
Below is a list of my “go to” standbys for Paris, with a couple that I am looking forward to trying.
