Le Petit Pali Brentwood, LA

In short… The cutest hotel in Brentwood, where details reign supreme and by the end of your stay, you’ll want to move in. 

The surroundings… Right on West Sunset, Le Petit Pali sits in the heart of Brentwood with convenient connections to West Hollywood, Beverly Hills and beyond. Despite being on a busy road, the area is primarily residential, so once you’re in your room, you’d never know it. 

The backstory… The location has been a hotel since opening in 1947 as The Brentwood Motor Hotel, and later as The Brentwood Inn. Renovated and taken over in 2024 by Palisociety at the skillful hands of Avi Brosh and his wife, Kirsten Leigh Pratt, the team completely transformed the property into the quaint and thoughtful boutique hotel that it is today.

The vibe… From the moment you arrive, you are totally immersed in Le Petit Pali’s little world. Floral wallpaper, striped chairs, rattan tables, walls covered in art, a crackling fire and tasteful coffee table books set a mood in the reception area, which feels like the home of your tasteful artist friend with a knack for interior design. There’s a charming enclosed outdoor seating area just off of reception, where guests (whose rooms are not equipped with private outdoor patios—more on that later) can enjoy breakfast. While it’s decorated, nothing is heavy handed, and it all feels just restrained enough—organic and not staged. Being essentially a rejuvenated motel, the reception is separate from the other buildings and is just to the right of the parking lot—bonus points for complimentary parking in LA! Some of the 25 rooms are located in a U-shaped pattern surrounding the center lot, but my room was more secluded at the back, and once you pass through the forecourt, the property becomes a charming little maze. There’s another outdoor seating area, much larger than the first, centered around a fountain, lemon trees, and lots of lavender—the perfect spot for a morning coffee or evening cocktail. It’s all very relaxed, with total freedom to explore.

The rooms… are on the smaller size but sufficient—and the design makes you feel cozy, not crammed. I stayed in a King Patio room, which had a surprisingly spacious bathroom and back patio. I loved the aesthetic of the room, with its curved floral headboard, candy-striped walls and jute rug, plus a pink-tiled bathroom! The back patio had just enough room for a striped scalloped umbrella and wooden deck chairs, where I had breakfast both mornings. 

Every detail in this room is considered, from the Antipode water to the Italian Baci chocolates to the beautiful vintage-style tea cups, and even the organic sunscreen for purchase in the mini bar. Robes are monogrammed with their simple logo, and the bedside notepad and pen are worth taking home—little details that are thoughtful and well executed.

The food & drink… Being a small inn, there’s no formal restaurant or dining, but breakfast is offered throughout your stay by way of a hand-delivered breakfast basket. You simply drop off your choices to reception the night before on a paper door sign, room-service style, and the next morning at your chosen time a knock on your door reveals a picnic basket full of pastries, yogurt, boiled eggs, muesli, fruit, etc. Coffee is delivered in an old-fashioned camping thermos, with fresh milk in glass bottles. The basket itself is incredibly cute!

In the evenings (if you’re in), delicious warm chocolate-chip cookies are delivered to your door, and even if you’re out and miss room service, they can be collected at the front desk when you return! 

Is it kid-friendly? I think this would be a great option for those traveling with kids. It’s cozy without feeling like you’re on top of the other guests, and so well located, you could practically live at the Brentwood Country Mart. There’s an option to adjoin rooms with the LPP Suite, which has a full kitchen, giving you a 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom suite. 

Extra tip goes to… Those addicting warm chocolate chip cookies! Seriously where bad habits start.

Parting words… Easily one of my favorite hotels in LA—Le Petit Pali feels homey, cozy and residential, thanks to its surrounding neighborhood.
