Raffia Shoes

I don’t think there’s been a summer yet where I haven’t bought a raffia or straw bag—sometimes a market bag, sometimes a cross-body. This summer I’m particularly excited about all the shoe options in one of my favorite fibers. Besides being lightweight, it’s just such an elegant look and especially perfect for hot weather.

1. These raffia flats by Aquazzura are a true lawn-furniture fantasy. The pattern borrows from the best raffia furniture patterns of the 1960s-’70s and are incredibly elegant. 

2. Reminiscent of a Birkenstock slide, these Clergerie raffia mules are perfect for summer travel days. They also make these more streamlined buckle slides.

3. These toe-thong style sandals by Castaner are a great utilitarian option, with a rubber sole and shape that really secures your foot.
