In short… Le Grand Mazarin is a chic new hotel in the 4th that’s incredibly well located for walking or metro-ing everywhere
The vibe… Cool, charming, and intimate, the decor designed by Martin Brudnizki is so lovely– just enough old world and modern details, brought together seamlessly.

The rooms… First off, I love a canopy bed—even better, a tapestry—coupled with a clever palette of muted brights, which made it feel modern and chic. The first room we stayed in was very charming, but small (we had a ton of luggage with us), so we asked if we could switch to something bigger. Our second room was lovely, including its little balcony with a table and chairs, and a giant bathroom.
The food and drink… There’s a cozy bar with a great bartender, and while we didn’t eat at the restaurant, Boubalé, which is reinvented Ashkenazi cuisine, we’ll have to go back, because several people have told me how excellent it is. It’s actually a destination restaurant (not a “hotel restaurant”), but we had made plans for every dinner before we arrived.

The wellness… There’s a great pool with a ceiling mural by Jacques Merle, a sauna, and a surprisingly large Technogym, which we always had to ourselves.
Date of stay… November 2023
