French Apéritif

Our friend Bérangère owns Chateau Larrivaux in the Médoc region of France. It’s one of our favorite wines, and one of the oldest estates in the region, which has been run by the women of the family since it started in 1580. We went to dinner there recently, and this was one of the apéritif platters she served. So simple, so good, and actually, no recipe—just get the oldest comté you can find (or an aged cheddar or Gruyère), the best raspberries, and put them together with simple toothpicks. Voilà! —Y.E.
